Jason English

When it comes to training Jason English is no stranger. He has had success in range of different types of mountain bike races.

He enjoys going fast and in 2014 year was ranked in the top few for the State Enduro Series!

He has has experience stage racing and has won the Alice Springs Stage Race, came second in the WA Cape to Cape and has won the Mountains to Beach 3 times.

In marathon races he has won or placed on the podium in most races at least once and has taken home the green and gold jersey on two occasions.

Jason is more well know for his 24hr racing where he has won the National Solo 24 Hour Championships from 2008 – 2015, the Solo-24 World Championships from 2009 – 2016, the Scott 24hr from 2008 – 2015 and also won the NZ National Championship in 2015. In 2016 he was named Cycling Australia Elite Mountain Biker of the Year and MTBA Elite Mountain Biker of the year for 2016/17.

With Jason and his wife Jen now sporting 2 kids, training needs to be more purposeful and time effective. While Jason has previously relied on his own crazy training methods and techniques his commitments off the bike are important to him (and so they should be!).

Jason has recently made the move to power and now has a Stages Power Meter on anything and everything he pedals. He finds that gathering T-Score is critical for the monitoring of training load and uses this quantitative measure as a true indicator to prescribe both exercise intensity and volume. Jason started out with a low power threshold but with carefully controlled interval intensity has seen this grow. Jason loves the range and flexibility of pre-made Today’s Plan workouts which help achieve specific focus goals.
