Born in South Africa with parents who were heavily involved in MTB owning their own magazine, Sara was the kid who learnt to ride before she could walk.
According to Sara her mum is by far her greatest influence and has encouraged her to ride and strive for success. It wasn’t until her family immigrated to Australia where she started riding more seriously. However, her journey reached an interlude as she got quite sick, her weight dropped way past the norm and she was out of action and in hospital for about 6 months.
Not being deterred Sara was determined to be ‘The Girl Who Never Gave Up’ and she got herself healthy again. At the age of 17 she began to race her first National Season.
From there she was picked up by the JetBlack racing team and with their help she learnt, progressed and accomplished great things. Racing the entire Rockytrail series she flourished and learnt to Never Give Up.
At the end of 2014 Sara was signed as a guest rider for the NSWIS NRS women’s team Subaru NSWIS NKC.
Sara celebrated her 18th birthday whilst racing the 2015 Women’s Santos Tour Down Under, a totally new and challenging experience. Recently sponsored by JetBlack Products and BH Bikes, Sara is now looking at racing the 2015 season and is training to prepare for entry into the elite and U23 category of racing for 2016.
Now using Today’s Plan, her results have already improved and she looks forward to succeeding and achieving her goals with the help of her talented coach James Lamb and Today’s Plan. Her core value of ‘Never Give Up’ pulse through her every action as she puts 110% into everything she does.
